Philosophy: Finding Books

Resources for the USD community interested in Philosophy.

Find Books at USD

Search our Catalog for books, videos, and other items.

Start on the library home page

https://www.sandiego.edu/library/

TIPS:

  • Limit your search results to e-books, print books, journals, DVDs, etc. on the left side of the results screen
  • You can also limit your search results to items only available in Copley Library
  • Follow the Subjects at the bottom of each individual record for similar items

To see only books and media "in" the library, go to Catalog, not Catalog Plus

Request Books From Other Libraries

If a book is not available at the USD Libraries you have two options:

Request your book from the(the combined catalog for USD, SDSU, UCSD, CSU San Marcos and San Diego County Public Libraries). If you find the book you need in the Circuit you can simply make an online request and have the book delivered to Copley Library.

Use Interlibrary Loan to request books, chapters, journal articles, films, music, scores, and a variety of other types of sources we don't have at Copley. Log in with your USD One account information and follow the instructions to set up your account, then enter your requests.

Would you like to just browse the shelves?

Philosophy books are generally located in the B section of the Copley Stacks, beginning just to the right of the Research Assistance Desk on the lower level of Copley.  The following is a breakdown of the Library of Congress call numbers and their corresponding subjects.  You can also use these subjects to do a Subject search in the library catalog.
