The University of San Diego Associated Student Government (ASG) began an initiative in Fall 2017 to provide access to undergraduate textbooks through Copley Library's online catalog and course reserves system. ASG officers dedicated a portion of ASG funds to select textbooks for the ASG Textbooks Reserves Collection which met the following criteria:
- Undergraduate courses in the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business, and the School of Engineering.
- Courses with more than one section
- Textbooks that cost $100 or more
