Adopted by the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Board of Directors, January 2016.
The ACRL Framework is based on a "cluster of interconnected core concepts" and divided into six frames. The six frames below are listed alphabetically and are not intended to be in a particular order or suggest a hierarchy:
Authority Is Constructed and Contextual
Information Creation as a Process
Information Has Value
Research as Inquiry
Scholarship as Conversation
Searching as Strategic Exploration
The frames are each divided into Knowledge Practices and Dispositions. See the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy Toolkit for ideas about how to engage the Framework as well as strategies for using it.
