Professional Seminar Resources for Graduate Students: New York Times (online subscription)

This guide provides links to library and web resources for MSBA 509 and other professional courses.on business careers and company information. This guide was designed based on the company investigation assignment from the course.

 

Copley Library is proud to offer free subscription access to the New York Times online for all current faculty, staff, and students. 

Follow the step-by-step guide below to set up an account using your @sandiego.edu email address.

After you set up an account, take advantage of:

Set Up Your Account


 

1. Click the button above or go to accessnyt.com.
2. Type and select University of San Diego in the Find School box.
3. Select Create Account. (Note: If you have a personal paid NYT Digital Subscription, you will need to contact NYT Customer Service to cancel your paid subscription before claiming your free USD subscription.)
4. Fill in your email address and select Continue.
5. Check your email for a confirmation link from the NYT.
6. Click the confirmation link emailed by the NYT to validate your email address.
7. Select your affiliation as a Faculty/Staff or Student at USD. If you are a student, you will be asked to select your anticipated graduation year.
8. Click Sign Up.
9. Enjoy unlimited NYT article access through Copley Library!

I have a personal paid account. How do I sign up for an NYT account through the library?

If you are using your USD email address for a personal paid NYT Digital Subscription, you will need to contact NYT Customer Service to cancel your subscription and then follow the steps for setting up a complimentary USD account.

If you are using a different email address for a personal paid NYT Digital Subscription, you will need to update the email address associated with your account to your USD email address and then cancel your existing subscription before following the steps for setting up a complimentary USD account.

I set up my account. Do I have to sign up every year?

If you are faculty or staff, your account will be active for 4 years.

If you are a student, your account will be active through your selected graduation year.

I'm having problems creating an account or accessing the NYT. Can I contact someone?

Yes! Reach out to your liaison librarian or email clers@sandiego.edu for help.

What is not included?

Your USD NYT account is a standalone account for NYTimes.com. Other features, including NYT Cooking, New York Times Games, The Athletic, Wirecutter, and e-reader editions are not included.
