Theology and Religious Studies: Franciscan School of Theology

Resources for the Franciscan School of Theology community

FST students, faculty, and staff have access to Copley Library and all the electronic resources available to the USD community. In addition, there are a few resources available only to the FST community.

For more information about the Franciscan School of Theology, see the FST site https://www.fst.edu/

FST Books

There are three categories of FST books in the catalog:

FST General Collection: These books are at our offsite storage facility and may be requested by anyone in the FST or USD community. Use the Request it button to initiate your request

FST Franciscana: These special collection books are at our offsite storage facility and may be requested by FST and USD faculty and graduate students only. Use the Request it button to initiate your request

FST Reference Onsite Use Only: The FST Reference collection is housed at the Franciscan School of Theology, Coronado building. Onsite access is limited to current FST students, faculty, and staff.

Resources exclusive to the FST community

In addition to the FST Reference collection, FST students have exclusive use of the Digital Theological Library (DTL)*.

Access the DTL here: https://libguides.thedtl.org/home

  • Begin your search for ebooks on the homepage of the DTL.
  • Find the title in your results list, and click on the title to view more information about it.
  • Select View Ebook to access the text, at which point you'll be asked to log in.
  • Select Franciscan School of Theology from the drop-down menu of schools, then enter your Student or Employee ID number, including any zeros at the beginning.

*There is an open access version of the DTL, the Open Access Digital Theological Library (OADTL). It is curated by the same people who manage the DTL we have for the FST community, but is open to any user. The content is not the same, though there is some overlap. If you have questions about using the OADTL, please get in touch with Martha Adkins.
