This page will help guide you to resources for your Country Profile assignment of a country in the Americas.
The Country Profiles are research papers focusing on a country that sends or has sent Black people to the US. The background information, perspectives, and analysis from your research is an important contribution to our class knowledge about the Continent and Diaspora, giving us detailed content for our class discussions on diversity in US Black communities. After identifying the country you’re focusing on, conduct your research using the Guiding Questions, and write a polished narrative about the country of origin. Be prepared to share in brief your profile with the class.

The following library resources will help you develop your Americas profile:
Credo Reference This link opens in a new window
Credo is a digital library of reference books. Search for a country's name and you will receive full-text results from a wide variety of reference material. You can then narrow your results by limiters, as well as follow links out to additional articles, news sources, etc.
African American Experience This link opens in a new window
This database gives voice to the Black experience from its African origins to the present. There is a lot of historical information here!
By searching the library's Catalog Plus, you'll get books, articles, and other materials (like country profiles!) that the library has access to. Lots of good stuff here!
